Mariposa County High School is located in the rural community of Mariposa, California, and is a center of county-wide community activities. The high school provides facilities for academic, cultural, and entertainment activities for the high school population as well as the community at large. Mariposa County is the home of Yosemite National Park, which attracts 3.4 million visitors each year, making tourism the primary industry of Mariposa County. Along with the National Park, visitors to Mariposa County can find fishing, hunting, backpacking, hiking, the California Mining and Mineral Museum, and Gold Rush history.
