Picture Retakes are Tues. Oct. 24

Lifetouch pictures will be back on Tuesday, October 24 for retakes.  You can order online by visiting www.mylifetouch.com and using Picture Day ID: EK067105Q1.  As well, you can complete the order form and send payment with the student on picture day.  A copy of the order form can be found here.

About MCHS

Mariposa County High School is located in the rural community of Mariposa, California, and is a center of county-wide community activities. The high school provides facilities for academic, cultural, and entertainment activities for the high school population as well as the community at large. Mariposa County is the home of Yosemite National Park, which attracts 3.4 million visitors each year, making tourism the primary industry of Mariposa County. Along with the National Park, visitors to Mariposa County can find fishing, hunting, backpacking, hiking, the California Mining and Mineral Museum, and Gold Rush history. Mariposa County High School is a ninety-nine year old, 9-12 comprehensive high school in the Mariposa County Unified School District.

HAPPENING TODAY 

Auditions for the next Drama Club Play 'Rock N Write' will take place Monday from 3:30-5:30 in the auditorium.  You must audition to be considered for a part.  If you need an audition packet, see Mr. Starchman ASAP.

 

There will be no sandwich cart today. The cafeteria will serve PB & J’s with their normal Monday offerings.

French Club Meeting Tuesday at lunch in room 53 to organize and plan National French Week activities.  Come see what la Société Honoraire de Français has brainstormed and what you can help with.

 

 

IN OTHER NEWS

Students under the age of 18 who are employed must have a current work permit on file with the school and their employer.  Work permits must be renewed every year. All permits issued during last school year, including those for summer employment, expired as of September 1, 2017.  Please see Mr. Bryson in the student services office for a new work permit today.

SENIOR YEARBOOK DEADLINE:   A special message from the yearbook staff to all 2018 seniors, the deadline for uploading your senior picture, baby pic, and rides pic is November 1.  You will be receiving more details in your senior English & Civics classes next week.

 

Who has the best hair?  Who has the most spirit?  Who is the biggest Netflix binger?  All Seniors!  Cast your senior most vote today.  Worksheet are available in Mr. Finney's class.  Then go to the MCHS homepage and click on the yearbook link.  Deadline is November 1st.

SPORTS REPORT           

If you are planning to play a winter sport, you will need to turn in a completed sports packet. If you have played a sport this school year, you will only need to turn in a completed a white card for the next sport you plan to play. Sports packets and white cards can be picked up from the attendance office.

 

 

CLUB NEWS

The first trap meeting will be the 26th at 6pm at the Fish and Game Hall. Bring your parents.

HOMEWORK HELP & TUTORING AVAILABLE

The Learning Center is open at 7:45 before school and at lunch to check out books, work on homework, print out homework, get help with homework, or make an appointment for tutoring. Mrs. Long is ready to help you. The Learning Center is open after school every day until 4:15 for homework time or tutoring services. 

Please remember to bring your ID or ASB card to the Learning Center when checking out a textbook or a chromebook.  When checking out a chromebook please remember to return it by the end of the day so it can be charged and ready for the next student to use.
